Daphne Hessels

Daphne Hessels joined DEKRA Certification B.V over 4 years ago, where she is a Project Manager, Lead Auditor and Technical File reviewer. Her background is in Oncology (>25 years). During her PhD study at the Radboud UMC in Nijmegen, she worked on biomarkers for prostate-, bladder- and kidney cancer and the translation of these biomarkers from bench to bedside. Thereafter, she worked for a spin-off company of the Radboud UMC, and was involved in the development of molecular diagnostic tests (gene panels) for the early detection of high-grade prostate cancer in body fluids. Her responsibilities were the identification and characterization of genes in the field of oncology, assay development, and at a later stage, laboratory and quality management, and coordinating European validation studies. Finally she obtained a role as Medical Scientific Affairs and RA (IVD) Manager, writing and preparing technical files for CE-marking according the IVDR.
